Shoulder Joint Replacement

Shoulder joint problems can cause pain, weakness and stiffness in the shoulder. This results in the inability to reach out and interact with the world with our hands. Such shoulder problems can arise from shoulder arthritis, complex fractures and chronic, massive tears of the rotator cuff tendons.

Restoring the shoulder joint function with an artificial joint may sometimes be the only option available if other non-surgical options fail to improve the function of the shoulder. However, shoulder joint replacement surgery also carries surgical risk and possible long-term concerns. As such, it is essential that the operation is performed well in order to get the best possible outcome.

Dr Bernard Lee is one of several shoulder surgeons in Singapore who is trained to perform shoulder joint replacements. He has vast experience and excellent outcomes with shoulder replacement surgery, having run a busy ‘Shoulder and Elbow Service’ while previously in public service.
